Gwen I’m really glad to have you as we have a thing or two in common. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and I am so grateful to have your support. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce you to my followers. Everyone please give Gwen a great big welcome by leaving a comment and supporting her on this fabulous Spotlight Tour.
There is a reason writers write. For some of us, there is a message lodged in our heart that longs for expression. In my case, I wanted to share my journey in the hope that others might better understand their own.
When I began writing my book, I expected to simply tell my story. As the pages unfolded though, I realized that my story was everyone’s story. The details of my journey are unique to me of course, but the emotions accompanying those details are universal. We all know sorrow, fear, or regret; and, we all travel through life trying to make sense of it all.
Writing Letting Go Into Perfect Love was an integrative process for me. At times it tore open my heart, such that I could barely breathe. However, my tears and gasps came and went, because they could. As I accepted and honored these emotions, compassion emerged; and, it was this development that redirected my writing, and quite frankly, my life.
When we are not free to be ourselves, a vital part of us disappears under layers of numbness. It is this shell of a person that others see—not who we ultimately are. As I disentangled myself from an abusive marriage, I re-discovered who I am–and why I had hidden for so many years. I also realized that I needed to bridge the chasm separating past and present—for me and for others.
I wrote Letting Go into Perfect Love to help others realize that they can open the door behind which they hide, and when they take this action, an amazing life awaits them.

Abuse, mental or physical, can be difficult to overcome. The abusers are so good at making the abused one believe it is all their fault. Kudos to you for getting out of that situation.

Rebecca, what you are saying is so true. I experienced this and it took my girlfriend to tell me what was going on. Its a good way to lose your self-esteem if you are not on guard. Thanks for supporting Gwen’s tour. We love having you here.

It’s one thing to write about painful experiences with knowledge and quite another when you open up your heart and soul to tell the tale. Your writing is admirable in so many ways Gwen and I’m so glad it’s helped you heal and go forward unburdened and able to find true happiness.
Shirley – so glad you’re one of those hosting Gwen. Thank you for having us over

Hi Gwen, we meet again. 🙂 Congratulations, and Thank you Shirley for profiling her. This phrase on your story resonated with me: “When we are not free to be ourselves…” Every bad relationship has always to do with someone trying to usurping our rights, our freedom, and our life. I said, trying, because it never lasts. I have had your book on TR for ever. I will now upgrade it. 🙂 🙂
